the neighbors screaming, I guess

Like falling children off a-
Merry go round out there.
(The things that we have weathered.)
Stop up our ears.
We balance, but our feelings
are a stumbling block again.
(I still believe, somehow…)
Don’t you let go. I know!
We’ll get the hang of this, if all we do is hang on, dear.

I hardly can stand here, dizzy as hell.

Over the wall, I heard the neighbor saying that
“It hasn’t felt good in years.”
(We’ve only just begun.)
Flaunting sex... until we sense betrayal,
like the moral of an Aesop fable.
(Fable, or a golden dream.)
Cover my eyes.
The circus lights are blinding and
distracting us along our way…
(But we can see this through!)
Changing our lives; could I be treating marriage
like a carnival game to play?
